Your privacy is important to us

Our websites serve Real Health Diagnostics inc., a Canadian federal corporation, and its wholly owned Florida subsidiary, Real Health Diagnostics USA Inc. We operate under the Real Health Diagnostics, HTMA Test, DUTCH Test and GI-MAP Test brands. This policy applies to realhealthdiagnostics.com, htmatestcanada.com, htmahairtest.com, dutchtestcanada.com, dutchtesthormones.com, gimaptest.com and gimaptestcanada.com.
Real Health Diagnostics inc. is responsible for Canadian orders, and Real Health Diagnostics USA Inc. is responsible for United States orders sold by that company. The full legal name of your seller appears before payment and on your order confirmation. Existing orders remain the responsibility of their original seller.
The two companies use shared support and order-management services. Authorised staff may handle information for either company where needed to fulfil an order, provide support or meet a legal obligation. Access to health information is limited to people who need it for those purposes. The existence of the subsidiary does not by itself authorise a new use of your health information or a transfer of your record to a different seller.
For a general website enquiry that is not associated with an order, Real Health Diagnostics inc. is the contact organisation. Our shared privacy contact can help you identify the company responsible and exercise your rights with either company.

You give us: name, email address, postal address, phone number, date of birth, biological sex, and any health context you choose to share when asking about your results.
The testing produces: your biological sample and the laboratory results derived from it — mineral, hormone or microbiome panels depending on the test — together with any written interpretation we prepare.
Automatically: order and payment records (we do not receive or store your card number), email correspondence with us, and basic website analytics.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your health results for advertising.
The other RHD company. Real Health Diagnostics inc. and Real Health Diagnostics USA Inc. may process information for each other for the shared services described above, subject to applicable law and any consent required for health information. We do not share laboratory results with a financing provider to support a payment application.
Laboratories. Your sample and the identifying information on the submission form go to the laboratory performing the analysis. For hair testing this is Trace Elements, Inc. in Addison, Texas, USA; for hormone testing, Precision Analytical, Inc.; for stool testing, Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory. All are in the United States.
Service and payment providers who help us operate: payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Google Workspace), and our order and results platform. When you select a payment option such as Klarna, Affirm or Afterpay, the payment provider receives the transaction, contact and order information needed to provide it. Payment providers may also process information for fraud prevention, legal compliance or their own payment services under their privacy notices. Their terms and notices are shown in the payment flow.

Where the law requires it.
Our Canadian company and shared support operations are in Canada. Our United States company and laboratories are in the United States. Your personal information, including health information where needed for your service, may be transferred between and processed in Canada and the United States. It may be accessible to courts and authorities under the laws of the country where it is processed. A United States order does not mean that all information stays in the United States.
The RHD company responsible for your information remains accountable when it is processed on its behalf. Contact our Privacy Officer for information about cross-border processing or to raise a concern.
Your sample. The laboratory analyses your sample and then destroys it. We never hold the physical sample ourselves.
Your results and order records. We keep these for seven years from the date of your order, then delete them. Seven years lets us compare a retest against your earlier baseline, which is a large part of the value of testing again, and it matches the period we are required to keep business and tax records.
Your contact details for marketing. Kept until you unsubscribe, after which we retain only the minimum needed to make sure we do not contact you again.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see Your rights below. Where we are legally required to keep a record of a transaction, we will delete everything except that record.
Under PIPEDA you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, withdraw consent to uses that are not required to deliver a service you have bought, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Your rights depend on your state, and they apply to you because of where you live — not because of where we are or which law governs our Terms. Depending on your state you may have the right to know what we collect and why, to obtain a copy, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Several states treat health information as sensitive and give it additional protection.
Whatever state you are in, you may make any of these requests and we will honour them to the extent the law provides.
Email privacy@realhealthdiagnostics.com. We will verify your identity before releasing health information and respond within the timeframe your law requires.
Access to results is limited to staff who need it. Data is held in access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections.
We should be straightforward with you about one limitation: results are currently delivered by email. Email is convenient but it is not a secure channel — once a message leaves us we cannot control or withdraw it. We are building a client portal so that results can be collected from a login instead, and we will move to it as the default when it is ready. If you would prefer not to receive results by email in the meantime, tell us and we will arrange another method.
Our services are sold to adults. A parent or legal guardian may order a test for their child, and in that case the parent or guardian is responsible for the information provided and receives the results.
Our interpretation of a child's results is educational and does not include pediatric supplementation guidance; see our Terms of Service, clause 4.1.
We will post any changes here with a revised date. Material changes affecting how we use health information will be notified to you directly.
